Sometimes I honestly wonder how my mother got around to being such a loving and caring person. I know our generation puts a lot of emphasis on how our parents are responsible for everything that we are and nearly all psycho analysis traces back to the childhood, but I have noted more times than I can count that children are at times absolutely nothing like both their parents when it comes to personalities, talents or even idiosyncrasies. And by ‘nothing like’, I don’t mean that they are the opposite, it’s not that easy. They exist on a different dimension altogether.

I know almost everyone believes their mothers are the nicest beings and maybe they if measured up against other individuals in their life, but I haven’t seen anyone’s mother be so conscientiously devoted to understanding their children and wanting to have her outlook at things evolve with her children as I have with my Mom. I have barely ever seen her snap. I can’t even remember the last time she felt the need to raise her voice or say something snide. She is the kind of person who just LOVES (and I mean genuinely love) everything that I do and she wants to be there and be fully supportive of all that I do, no matter what it is. I can’t ever imagine someone wanting and trying so hard to understand me every step of the way.

I think it’s a miracle to have her in my life. Even as an individual. And especially as a mother.
